Little Angels, Little Devils (CH4 1994)
An hour-long documentary, produced in the wake of the Bulger case, which traces the history of contrasting versions of childhood down the ages. Blake’s text – a long narrative poem – is offset by interviews with various experts on childhood, including Gitta Sereny and Nicholas Tucker. The film also incorporates cine footage from Blake’s childhood and a poignant visit to his dilapidated childhood home. Directed by Susanna White and produced by Jane Root for Wall to Wall.
